Getting Help

Help Desk Standing By...

We realize that TheraTogs are a one-of-a-kind rehab support system, and that sometimes even the most experienced clinician or savvy caregiver may need a little help getting started. We also know that there are times when caregivers are referred to a TheraTogs solution, and they need to get up to speed on the use and potential of TheraTogs as an adjunct to their treatment efforts.

Don’t worry! We’ve got a team of smart people and multiple resources standing by to help you get the most out of your TheraTogs system.

Here’s a summary of helpful tips and resources – pick your tab and get started!

Help Topics

  • Measure the client carefully before you order: TheraTogs systems are sized by a combination of weight, shoulder-to-ASIS, ASIS-to-knee. Use all three measurements to be sure.  Download the Sizing Chart from the Additional Resources links at left for measurement guidance. The #1 cause of TheraTogs returns is ordering the wrong size – don’t be a statistic!
  • Start slow. Even if you plan on addressing mobility or extremity function eventually, start with the new PTA (or use just the TankTop and Hipster from your Full Body System) for the first few sessions. Give your client core stability and proper postural alignment first, and let them get used to it, before moving on to other applications. We know how exciting TheraTogs can be — but resist the temptation to fix everything at once.
  • Instruct your caregivers thoroughly so your client gets full use out of their TheraTogs. The #1 reason for caregiver support calls is ‘my therapist didn’t explain it fully…’
  • Every TheraTogs system comes with complete documentation, and some have demonstration DVD’s. However, if you want to connect with a colleague who is a Certified TheraTogs Fitter (CTF), use the Certified Fitter Locator to find one in your area. For information about getting certified, check out the courses provided by our training partner, Progressive GaitWays, LLC. Professional CEUs are provided.
  • Subscribe to the periodic TheraTogs newsletter to receive regular tips and updates – and check out our Facebook page for Tuesday Tech Tips!

  • Make sure you understand the donning and fitting process before you take the TheraTogs home. Many clinicians have a Clinical Starter System that is intended for demonstration and practice.
  • In most cases, you’ll want to start with just the TankTop and Hipster for the first few sessions. Let the wearer get used to them, and get used to putting them on him or her.
  • Wash the TheraTogs frequently, even if there are no ‘accidents’ or spills – the foam layer is a water-based foam and needs to be replenished often. Download the simple care instructions (recently updated) from the Additional Resources links at left.
  • Your therapist does not need special training to use TheraTogs; every system comes with complete documentation, and some have demonstration DVD’s. However, if your therapist wants to connect with a colleague who is a Certified TheraTogs Fitter, use the Certified Fitter Locator to find one in your area.

  • The #1 cause of TheraTogs returns is ordering the wrong size; returns are subject to a restocking fee, and replacement orders do not enjoy free shipping.
  • TheraTogs have been reimbursed in many states, typically by Medicaid or Early Intervention programs, and by multiple private payors. In many cases, reimbursement applications must be filed “by report” using manual codes. Our National Sales Manager, Tom Ostoich, can answer general questions about what coding practices are being used: tostoich@theratogs.com or (714) 307-2608.
