Training
As we’ve noted elsewhere, formal training is not a requirement for successful TheraTogs use. As a qualified rehab clinician, you already know what to do for your clients in the way of positioning, movement training, and postural support: all you need to do is express those activities in TheraTogs garments and strapping applications, and get the caregivers on board with compliance.
Obviously, it’s much easier to train a caregiver in the correct donning of the TheraTogs garments and the placement of a strap or two, than it is to teach them how to be a home therapist.
Clinicians worldwide have told us they’re seeking improvements in their confidence and experience as a “Togger” – and for that, we have several levels of help:
If you want to… | Then you should… |
Get a summary introduction to TheraTogs, find out what you need to know, and learn a little about the various products and their uses. | …schedule an Inservice Webinar to introduce your team to TheraTogs and their uses (with hands-on practice built-in!). |
Get some hands-on practice with a real client, at no cost or risk. | …request a Loaner System for a short trial of a TheraTogs system for a mildly involved client – with compliant caregiver(s) – who you think would be a good candidate for gains from TheraTogs. |
Get in-depth training, hands-on practice and a certification of your skills – plus inclusion in the CTF referral and peer support network |
…check out the Certified Fitter training options and schedule (or consider training your whole department by hosting CTF courses). (And if you practice outside the US, contact your authorized distributor for information about training classes or loaners. If none are offered, encourage them to do so!) |
