- Measure the client carefully before you order. TheraTogs systems are sized by a combination of weight and body dimensions, depending on the product configuration. Collect all the dimensions indicated on the appropriate Sizing Chart, to be sure of your size selection. The #1 cause of TheraTogs returns is ordering the wrong size – don’t be a statistic!
- Need an LMN? Here’s a sample LMN/claim appeals letter for your use.
- Start slow. Even if you plan on addressing mobility or extremity function eventually, start with just the garments – the TankTop and Hipster – for the first few sessions. Give your client core stability and proper postural alignment first, and let them get used to it, before moving on to other applications. We know how exciting TheraTogs can be — but resist the temptation to fix everything at once.
- Instruct your caregivers thoroughly so your client gets full use out of their TheraTogs. Most caregiver support calls start with “my therapist didn’t explain it fully…”
- Review the instructions and videos that came with your TheraTogs system to get up to speed.
- Connect with a colleague who is a Certified TheraTogs Fitter (CTF); use the Certified Fitter Locator to find one in your area. Check out the CTF program for information about getting certified yourself.

- Make sure you understand the donning and fitting process before you take the TheraTogs home. Many clinicians have a Clinical Starter System they can use to demonstrate applications and allow you to practice.
- Start with just the TankTop and Hipster for the first few sessions. Let the wearer get used to them, and get used to putting them on him or her.
- Wash the TheraTogs frequently, even if there are no ‘accidents’ or spills – the foam layer is a water-based foam and needs to be replenished often. Download the product care instructions if needed.
- Your therapist does not need special training to use TheraTogs; every system comes with complete documentation, and most have supporting videos. However, if your therapist wants to connect with a colleague who is a Certified TheraTogs Fitter, use the Certified Fitter Locator to find one in your area.

- The #1 cause of TheraTogs returns is ordering the wrong size. Returns are subject to a restocking fee, and replacement orders do not enjoy free shipping.
- The Dragonfly TLSO product is code-verified for L-0456, and includes both a warm-and-form spinal support brace and a full TheraTogs garment subsystem. It is usually the product of choice for clients with appropriate medical conditions.
- TheraTogs have been reimbursed in many states, typically by Medicaid or Early Intervention programs, and by multiple private payors. In many cases, reimbursement applications must be filed “by report” using manual codes.
